A 20-year-old Morgan County man accused of shooting and killing a neighbor's dog pleads not guilty.
Tyler Taylor made his initial appearance in court this morning after being cited with a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty last week.
His neighbor, 27-year-old Emmalee Stanley, says she was letting her two small dogs outside, while watching them from her steps, when they took off after something. When the one dog didn't return, she says she was heading toward Taylor's yard, when he came out with a gun and shot the dog.
Morgan County Sheriff's Deputy, James Fisher, says Taylor later told him he shot the dog because it was trying to breed with his dog, that was in heat.
A pre-trial is scheduled for April 19th.
