Driver Hits Building Injuring Pedestrian

Trooper Hale on Truck Into Building

A truck went crashing into a Newton Township business Friday evening injuring one person.

Shortly after 7 p.m. the pick-up backed into White Cottage Auto Electric at 5165 Limestone Valley Road.

"The driver was recklessly backing up on Limestone Valley Road, lost control and went into this private parking lot striking a building," says Trooper Troy Hale, Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol.

The driver was not injured in the crash, however a bystander was.

"There was one injury, a pedestrian inside the building from when he crashed into the building a piece of metal cut his hand and leg," says Hale.

The driver of the truck was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence. The crash remains under investigation.
