The Zanesville Fire Department is calling a late night blaze arson.
It happened at 1437 Wheeler Road around 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
Firefighters responded to a structure that was fully-engulfed. It took them about a half hour to tame before the investigation could begin.
"We've ruled out any accidental means on it or things that were here that may have caused the fire. So, it's definitely a set fire, " says Fire Chief, Dave Lacy.
The fire started near the front door. Lacy says the source appears to be remnants on the ground left from previous owners that were lit.
The target was a vacant home, and he says this fire has some similar tendencies to other arsons in that area over the past couple of weeks. However, are they the work of the same person?
"No, right at this time we have no linking whatsoever relative to these other fires that were on the west side of town. This is pretty much an isolated incident as far as we're concerned, " says Lacy.
There are no suspects at this time.
