Details about Wednesday's Roseville stabbing that sent one man to the hospital are now being released.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says Travis Pittman noticed two or three people "messing around" with his car earlier this week. On Wednesday Pittman saw one person acting suspicious around his vehicle parked outside his home on East Athens Road.
"He went outside and he thought he saw someone messing around with his car so he went up and there was somebody there and he confronted them. A scuffle ensued and Travis ended up getting stabbed," says Sheriff Lutz.
Pittman was stabbed on the right side of his torso and the knife did touch his lung. Pittman is being treated at University Hospital in Columbus. Sheriff Lutz says if you notice someone vandalizing your car, don't confront them, instead call law enforcement immediately.
"If someone is messing around in your vehicle, anything you can get as far as details and description help us and as soon as you call us and get us to the scene the better," says Sheriff Lutz.
Sheriff Lutz says Pittman cannot identify his attacker and the Sheriff's Office currently has no other leads.
If you know anything about this stabbing call Detective Kanavel at the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office (740-452-3637).
