A Nationwide Children's Hospital spokeswoman says a 10-year-old boy who was run over by a car last night is in critical condition.

The Zanesville Police Department responded to the Kidzville parking lot at Riverside Park. Lieutenant Tony Coury says the boy was hiding in front of his sister's car when she went to pull out of a parking space. He says it appears she accidentally ran her brother over, who was pinned under the car until a passerby helped pull him out.

The boy was initially transported to Good Samaritan Hospital but later taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.

Coury says he does not anticipate citing the juvenile driver because fault seems to lie with the 10-year-old.
