A Marietta man is ejected from his vehicle after a one-car crash this afternoon.

It happened just after four p.m. along Interstate 77 near the Byesville exit.

Trooper Charles McDonnell says 45-year-old Scott Davisson was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail, and spun out. He says it appears Davisson wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected about 15 feet from his vehicle into the median.

He was taken to Southeastern Ohio Medical Center in Cambridge before being transported to OSU Medical Center in Columbus. His condition is critical at this time. McDonnell says that Davisson had abrasions on the back of his head.

McDonnel says the cause of the accident is still under investigation but notes Davisson may have nodded off while driving.

Interstate 77 was closed for about an hour as crews worked to clear up the wreck.
