The Licking County Health Department wants to stress the importance of vaccinations during National Infant Immunization Week. Health Commissioner, Joe Ebel, says these shots are effective tools in the fight against spreading diseases and preventing death.

Babies are required to receive 14 vaccinations before they turn two. To find out if your child has all his or her shots up-to-date, you can contact 740-349-6535.

The Licking County Health Department does offer some immunization clinics. There is an associated fee, but Ebel says no child will ever be turned away because a family can't afford it.
