Fairfield County's Community Watch Program is entering its fourth year, and Sheriff Dave Phalen says crime has reduced by 50 percent in neighborhoods that are taking part.

The program utilizes four retired cruisers, all of which have Amber warning lights and are marked as "Community Watch" cars.

Volunteers use these vehicles to patrol areas after attending 40 hour training classes. If you're interested in becoming part of the program, you can contact Sergeant Jared Collins at 740-653-5223 or visit www.sheriff.fairfield.oh.us to print off an application. Applications will be accepted through May 15th.
