US Congressman Zack Space is on his way back to Washington DC after spending some time in the 18th District.
The main issue on his agenda, which he says is extremely important, is the economy.
"Figuring out a way to get out of this recession that has been so crippling, especially to areas like ours. Rural America has suffered much more than urban and suburban areas, " says Space.
But Space says there are signs of progress.
"We added 292,000 jobs to the economy last month. The month before that, it was 160,000 new jobs. That is the first significant job growth we've seen in this country in the past three years, " says Space.
Congress plans to look over tax extender packages to provide some additional relief to the middle class. Space says the government needs to continue stimulating the economy and enhancing consumer confidence.
