The Vista View Golf Course in Nashport has new local owners.
While there were only four bidders, the club house was packed with golf patrons, waiting to see what will happen to this piece of property. The bids started at 400 thousand dollars and eventually worked its way up to the winning bid of 500 thousand dollars.
"I think the market has spoken in terms of the value of the property here. An absolute auction or a court-ordered auction, is certainly one of the most open forms of the sale of an asset such as this, " says Ohio Real Estate Auction General Manager, Tim Lile.
The winning bidders of the 175 acre property were Jim Lepi and his wife. He says he was actually bidding for the corporation he works at with his two brothers and two other partners.
"Our intentions today are to continue as a golf course, but we're going to meet with consultants soon and look at all the possibilities to see what's most feasible, " says Lepi.
Lepi says if it remains a golf course, he hopes to have it up and running soon.
A deposit was submitted today and the title transfer should take place within the next 30 days.
