More than fifty students from Ohio University will travel to New Orleans to help the Gulf Coast Region.
Fifty-four students raised over $10,000 for travel expenses and lodging to make the trip to New Orleans, Louisiana. While there the team will help victims of Hurricane Katrina and assist in the clean-up efforts from the off shore oil leak in the Gulf.
While the students don't know how much they'll get to assist with the Gulf leak they do know there's still work to be done from Katrina.
The students left for the trip Thursday as President Roderick McDavis cheered the group on. They'll return to the university on June 1st.
