A 6-year-old child is taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus after an evening incident.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. at 798 Craig Parkway.

The Licking County 911 Center says it received an initial call of a possible drowning at the residence.

The Newark Fire Department says when crews arrived, the child had already been pulled from a pool.

Captain Michael White would not go into the extent of the child's injuries but did say they were serious enough to have the child taken by MedFlight to the hospital.

The child's condition is not known at this time.
