It was a wild night for weather Friday in Southeastern Ohio.
WHIZ was struck by lightning, taking our radio stations and TV signals off the air temporarily. There were reports of flooding, lightning strikes, downed trees and power lines across the area.
In Zanesville, Maple Avenue was impassable in some areas due to high water and heavy rains actually washed away part of Greenwood Avenue.
At 1033 Sunset Avenue in Zanesville a huge oak tree landed on a two-story apartment building. No one was injured.
Winds of 60 miles per hour were recorded in Newark for five minutes.
