Local law enforcement officers are helping the community in a different way today.
The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol got together and held a food drive to help support Operation Feed.
Everything that was collected was given to Christ's Table Friday morning. Zanesville Post Commander Lt. Steven Rine said troopers do more than enforce laws.
"It's makes us feel really good it makes me feel good and like I said I joined the patrol to be a public servant this is just one aspect of it," Rine said.
Lt. Rine said he hopes people give when they can.
"I think that everyone should get a little bit more involved with it while it's good for you some others have some unfortunate luck and Operation Feed is a great program it feeds people that need the food and refills food pantries that are running a little bit short on food," Rine said.
Operation Feed has raised food and funds that help places like Christ's Table provide a hot meal to people in need for almost 30 years.
