Homeowner's Out of Town

A house fire caused a busy street to be shut down during rush hour Monday.

Falls Township Fire Department Lt. Mark Brown said it happened around 8 at 2855 Linden Avenue.

"We received a call at approximately 0800 hours from the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office saying they had several 911 calls in reference of a structure fire," Lt. Mark Brown said.

Linden was closed  just before East Highland Drive for more than an hour Monday morning while crews put out the fire. No one was home at the time but the house has extensive damage.

"The home owner is out of town we're trying to make contact with them," Lt. Brown said.

"There's heavy damage to most of the residence,' Lt Brown said.

Lt brown said the State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause.
