Block Party

One local youth group is branching out from its ministry in Duncan Falls.

After growing to a size of about 40 people, "Eternity" is ready to bring church to the people.

"We had a youth group of just 2 teenagers, and we asked them to be disciples and go tell their friends because on Saturday night, the mall is full of stray kids running around bored. Facebook is boring them with them talking to each other. So, we asked why don't you bring your friends for something fun to do, and they brought a friend and brought a friend, " says Youth Leader, Debbie Gheen.

It's teaming with the Salvation Army and other local churches to put on a block party tomorrow on Putnam Avenue from noon to 6 p.m.

"We want to give back. We are not selfish. We are giving back to our community, and this is where it starts, " says Gheen.

The event is free to everyone and will include food, games, and entertainment.
