Submitting Resignations

The West Muskingum School Board is accepting 2 resignations.

School board member Steve Tyner submitted his resignation last Friday, citing personal reasons.

"Sometimes being a board member is a thankless job. Its' a difficult job. People don't often realize that, but it's a hard job, and we really appreciate the years he's given the school district and wish him well, " says Superintendent Sharon Smith.

Tyner served on the school board for 3 years, now the school district is looking to fill his position.

"The law requires that we can not fill it for 10 days, but it must be filled within 30. So, that's the timeline we'll be looking for that, " says Smith.

The high school's head football coach, Paul Perry, also submitted his resignation today. Smith says perry is looking to possibly re-locate in Florida. She and the rest of the board want to thank him for his years of service as a special education teacher and part of the football program. They are looking to fill his position as soon as possible, especially since two-a-days start next month.
