One local organization is looking to help area kids have a wardrobe for school.
The Zanesville Salvation Army will be holding its annual clothing giveaway Thursday, August 5th and Friday, August 6th. The staff says it's hoping to hand out five outfits to each child.
"I don't think the numbers are going down this year. I was hoping the trend would change, but at this point, we're going to try to meet those needs and probably a little bit more this year, " says Diane Campbell of the Salvation Army.
Kids will be able to sift through T-shirts, jeans, sweatshirts, dresses, and shoes, and to make sure these kids get what they need, the Salvation Army is asking for the community's help.
"If you have anything that you've just outgrown or you just are not using, we would be happy to take it to help with that need, " says Campbell.
If you plan on attending, bring a picture ID and Social Security card for each child.
The event helped out more than 1,000 kids last year.
