The Muskingum Valley Red Cross will be receiving some much-needed funding from two different events this week.
Terra Cotta Vineyards, in New Concord, is holding a Ladies Evening at the Vineyard this Thursday from six to eight p.m. All proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross.
"We call them our heroes. We work so hard to generate the funds to go into our disaster relief fund, to help our military, and to help train people in the community with CPR and first aide. For people to step up and see the important for what we're doing in this community, doing a hero event for us, it means so much, " says Keely Warden, Readiness and Development Director.
The Carr Center will also be holding a cook-out and blood drive this Friday afternoon to benefit the Red Cross. Those who donate blood will receive a free lunch.
"They started talking with their clients about if you could help someone in the community, who would you like to help? They said it would be the American Red Cross, " says Warden.
The Carr Center says it's so thankful for what the community has done for its organization that it wanted to know what it could do for the community.
