Back to school shopping is starting, and one charitable organization wants to help out.
Eastside Community Ministry and American Legion Post 29 joined forces to help lower income children and teens receive the proper school supplies for class.
"We have lists from each of the school districts that we, we make, and when they apply for the backpack we get their school and their grade," said Committee Member, Ellen Shaw.
Eastside says that any basic school supplies would be helpful to donate. The program is expected to help out nearly 800 students.
"It's so important that kids get a good education, and to have the proper tools to do it, make them feel like they are more willing to work hard to get the education that they need," said Shaw.
The bus will be back at Walmart North tomorrow from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
