A two car accident sends five people to the hospital.
A bad accident on the Sonora Road Ramp to Interstate 70 Westbound had it shut down for part of the morning. Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol Trooper Wesley Archer said just before 10 Wednesday morning a woman driving an s-u-v got off of I-70 Westbound at the Sonora Road exit ran the stop sign and then tried to go across Sonora Road to get back on the highway when she was stuck by a van.
"I do have a witness that saw the crash and he was headed north on Sonora Road and he advised that she did run the stop sign. So she will probably be receiving a citation for failure to yield to a stop sign," Trooper Wesley Archer said.
All four people including two children in the the S-U-V were rushed to the hospital, along with the driver of the van, with non life threatening conditions.
The accident remains under investigation.
