A motorcyclist suffers injures after a traffic accident on Maple Avenue Thursday morning.
Zanesville Police said that just before 10:30am a Buick LaSabre driven by 76-year-old Eileen Miller of Zanesville was traveling north on Maple Avenue and was attempting to turn left into the Colony Square Mall when it was struck by a 1985 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 54-year-old Ronald Liggett of Zanesville.
Sgt. Rice said that the Miller didn't see the motorcycle, who was traveling south on Maple. A helmet was not found at the scene.
"Any head injury is going to be something we take seriously," said Rice.
Sgt. Rice said Liggett was transported to Genesis Good Samaritan then taken by ambulance to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. The LaSabre was taken to the police impound lot.
"We're going to conduct our investigation," explained Rice. "We'll wait a few days to see what the health of the driver is going to be."
At this time no one is being cited in the accident. Zanesville Police were assisted on the scene by the Zanesville Fire Department and Community Ambulance.
