Some local residents at Zane Landing Park are taking a step back in time.
The Simcox Big Band performed a free concert that had many tunes dating back to the 1940's and 1950's. Dan Kocher of Zanesville says it was nice to pull up a chair and enjoy music that was popular when he was a teen.
"When I was in high school, we went to a couple places, all of us went, and we even remember that it was called teen time. All the young people went down to the Y, sang, and dances. It was awesome. So, every time I see something like this, it's still there...still in my bones, " says Kocher.
The music even prompted one couple to get on their feet and dance.
"It's just got a really good beat and rhythm to it. It just makes you feel good. We wish we had more here in Zanesville. We wish there were more places that did ballroom dancing, " say Fred and Kaye Snyder of Zanesville.
Fred and Kaye have been taking dance lessons for years. They attended Sunday night's concert with their parents and say it's nice to have an outdoor event, like this one, that they can all enjoy together.
