Area Lake Algae Advisory Update

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources continues to monitor area lakes after this summer’s algae water problems. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is now offer updates on water quality on its website. Wednesday the State is saying that Cutler Lake at Blue Rock State Park in Muskingum County is under a “no contact advisory”. That means “an algae bloom has made this area unsafe for recreational activities. You are strongly advised to avoid any and all contact with or ingestion of lake water. This includes the launching of any watercraft on the lake”. The State is listing Dillon Lake, also in Muskingum County, under a “bloom advisory”. That means “an algae bloom has made this area potentially unsafe for water contact. Avoid direct contact with visible surface scum.
