A Newark police officer is charged with disorderly conduct.
Police Chief Steven Sarver says Bobby Hartless' 17-year-old daughter claimed he hit and kicked her on August 4th. After filing a report with the police department, hartless was arrested for domestic violence. Sarver says the city's law director chose not to pursue the case and the charge was dropped, But it did move on to a special prosecutor, who sarver says did decide to file a disorderly conduct charge Thursday.
Sarver says his department will hold a meeting Friday to decide what to do with Hartless. He says this isn't the first time hartless' daughter has complained about her father's strong disciplinary actions.
