For those 4-H members showing hogs Friday is a bittersweet day at the Swine Barn.
Friday they sell the hogs they've been working with for months and for some it's an end of some difficult work.
"It's hard work. You have to feed it, wash it, brush it," said Stephen West a 4H member. "It's a lot of work to do."
For a veteran 4H member saying good-bye to an animal they've cared for is somewhat sad.
"There's a lot more to raising an animal then you think there would be," explained Titus West. "I always think that there's another year."
Brandon Davis and his family introduced the West boys into hog farming making him their role model.
"It's that helping the community feeling," said Davis. "Plus it makes you feel good because someone is looking up to you for advice."
All three boys said they'll continue to show hogs next year.
