A 2010 Pelotonia bike rider is dead following an accident in Hocking County.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of State Routes 180 and 374.

The Athens Post of the State Highway Patrol says a state trooper was directing traffic at the intersection and motioned for 57-year-old Ervin Blackstone to stop his pick-up truck. It says Blackstone continued driving and struck 57-year-old Michelle Kazlausky, who was on her bike. Kazlausky was transported to Hocking Valley Hospital and later pronounced dead. Troopers say Blackstone didn't appear to have any visible injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and will be presented to the Hocking County Prosecutor's Office to see if charges will be filed.

The Pelotonia biking event has riders travel from Columbus to Ohio University in Athens to raise money for cancer.
