Council passed two pieces of legislation at Monday's City Council meeting.
The first ordinance was declared an emergency. It allows the city to seek bids to find a local and long distance telephone and Internet service provider. The city's Centrex system contract expired, costing the city more money monthly.
The second ordinance amends a current piece of legislation designating certain banking institutions for deposits and cash management for the city. It extends the legislation through May 31, 2011.
A parking order was also put into place that establishes a "No Parking Anytime Zone" in both directions of Western Avenue from Roosevelt to McIntire Avenue.
