A leisure boatride is business for some government officials from our area.
The Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association held a meeting on the Lorena Wednesday afternoon, it was Muskingum County's turn to host.
"We have meetings in different counties once a month and we discuss the issues, what's going on in the county, what's coming down through the OMEGA and legislation," said Muskingum County Commissioner, John Bates.
Bates says part of the money from grants, comes through O.M.E.G.A. He says the city is seeking money for incubator which allows locals to receive assistance on potential business ideas.
"A 300 hundred thousand dollar grant that will be the tail end of what we need for the incubator, so we'll apply for that grant, whether we get it or not, but it'd be good for the county," said Bates.
Bates says these meetings are important for regional officials to share ideas and discuss future plans.
