A man suspected in a Wednesday night home invasion is found dead.

The Licking County Sheriff's Office said that around 7pm a masked man entered the home of Karen Skeen at 11625 Mount Hope Road in Thornville. He pointed a handgun at Skeen and gave orders which she didn't follow.

Instead, she ran out the back door of her home to escape. The suspect 21-year-old Jade Rosato-Garey ran from the home into the woods.

Sheriff's personnel arrived and air support was summoned from Columbus. A short while later two officers on a perimeter detail found Garey dead in a driveway on Laurel Hill Road one mile from the victim's home with an apparent gunshot wound.

A firearm was found near the body.

The sheriff's office believes the wound to be self inflicted and the death is under investigation.

The Licking County Coroner's Office is conducting an examination Thursday.
