A two-car accident at the intersection of Main Street and Augusta Street sends two people to the hospital.

It happened around 6 p.m. Sergeant Chris Phipps of the Zanesville Police Department says a Chevy pickup truck was heading East on Main Street when it applied the brakes for a semi pulling out of Augusta Street and onto Main.

The pickup truck was then rear-ended by Victoria Clark of Zanesville who was driving a Chevy Blazer. There were no passengers in her vehicle.

Both the driver and passenger in the pickup truck were transported by Community Ambulance to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. Sgt. Phipps calls their injuries non life-threatening. The accident remains under investigation.
