The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle accident that sent two people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 8:30 Thursday morning.

Lt. Steven Rine says a car driven by Amanda Debs was heading north on Mount Perry Road when she failed to
yield at the stop sign at the intersection of Mount Perry and US 40.

Lt. Rine says she was then struck by a car driven by Sharron Laughner of Newark which was heading east on 40.

Laughner  had to be extricated from her car by the National Trails Fire Department.

Both Debs and Laughner were taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

Laughner was then taken by Medflight to Grant Hospital in Columbus for treatment of possible internal injuries.

Lt. Rine says Debs will likely be cited with failure to yield.

The accident remains under investigation.
