A two car accident sends two people to the hospital Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 8:30. Zanesville State Highway Post Commander Lt Steven Rine said a car heading north on Mount Perry road failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of Mount Perry and U.S. 40.

"The eastbound traffic struck the vehicle that didn't yield at the stop sign," Rine said.

The drivers in both vehicles were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Lt. Rine said ODOT was there to help.

"We were fortunate enough to have ODOT on the scene to go ahead and distribute the cones and restrict the traffic to one lane so we could get it cleaned up," Rine said.

Lt Rine said there will probably be a citation for failure to yield.
