Zanesville City Schools will start classes for the 2010/2011 academic year Tuesday.
Students will walk through the doors of two new elementary buildings and a new high school. The administration and staff have been hard at work making sure everything is ready for the students.
"We're putting the finishing touches right now. Putting the cafeteria together. Doing the final changes of desks and stuff in the classrooms to make sure we have seats for everybody. Other than that, we're really ready, " says high school principal, Mark Ulbrich.
A few glitches are expected at the high school with some of the newer technology that staff will have to work through. Crews will also focus on finishing the outside parking lots and landscape. Ulbrich says the school will still be an active construction zone.
"The big thing we would like to get out to the parents and to the students is be careful tomorrow (Tuesday). We'll have personnel out there tomorrow directing. Just be careful and be patient tomorrow (Tuesday), " says Ulbrich.
Student pick-up and drop-off will be at the Faith United Methodist Church across the street, and students will continue to park in the lower lot by the tennis courts. A fenced in walkway will lead them up to the building.
