Local golfers are taking a swing and saving lives.
2010 marks the 30th year of the Genesis Pro-Am Golf Tournament, it's being held at the Zanesville Country Club all weekend long where 38 teams will compete.
"All the proceeds go towards oncology services so whether its new equipment or new supplies, new procedures there's a lot of funding needs for making sure we have state of the art oncology care right here in zanesville," said C.E.O of Genesis Healthcare System Matt Perry.
Even pro-golfers are participating in the tournament. Perry says this is one of the largest turnouts they've ever had.
"The community support for this, the way it feels, it's just amazing, it's absolutely amazing, this is such an incredibly gifted and giving community, and this is just such a great example of that."
Two million dollars has been raised since it's beginning. Last year the tournament made nearly $130,000 Perry says this year they hope to match that.
