Senior citizens were given a taste of the island life as a part of National Assisted Living Week.
Residents of the Apartments at Cedar Hill have taken part in many activities throughout the week-long event. This year's theme is 'living life' and Wednesday night they got to experience it as if they were on an island.
"We've invited all the families of the residents, and the residents of course and we're having a Hawaiian Luau with real Hawaiian dancers and Polynesian fire dancers," says Stoey Stout, Vice President of Zandex Healthcare.
Assisted Living Week was established in 1995 and allows residents to come together with the community, family, and staff members.
"It's a time for us to give thanks back to our residents. Thanking them for choosing us for their home here at the Apartments at Cedar Hill and a way to celebrate life," says Cindy Clark, Director of Resident Care.
National Assisted Living Week runs through Saturday, September 18.
