One local retailer is lending a helping hand.
Goodwill Industries and Elder Beerman stores are teaming up for the "Goodwill Sale", which will last until September 29th. The campaign started in 1994 as a way to help Goodwill not only collect clothing and other items to sell, but to also aid in generating revenue for the store to provide jobs and other employee services.
"It's a great way to help out the community, it really does feel good. Our mission here at Elder Beerman is to do things in the community where we live and we work and to really make a difference and helping Goodwill does that," said Store Manager of Elder Beerman Annie Wolfer.
Those who donate will receive a coupon from Elder Beerman allowing them 20% off most items in the store.
"There's only one exclusion this year and the coupons can be used on cosmetics and fragrances and electronics and it's a higher discount than what normally the coupons would be, so it makes it special for the event," said Wolfer.
Elder Beerman will also be hosting "Stuff The Truck" this Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. They will be giving away two coupons for every one item donated.
