Ohio's fall wild turkey hunting season is underway, and so far, hunters have already bagged almost 300 of the birds.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources indicates the season is popular in our area. 438 turkeys were harvested last year, with totals in Coshocton, Muskingum, and Guernsey Counties topping the list. The season will last through the end of November.
Hunting hours are a half hour before sunrise through sunset, you are allowed to harvest one turkey of either sex per hunter, and you must have an Ohio hunting license along with a fall turkey permit.
