For some it's a living, and for others it's a time-intensive hobby.

The third-annual Mid-East Ohio Model Engineering Expo is coming to the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. Mechanics and engineers will be displaying and selling model engines, some of which take months to years to build. The best part is, they all function.

"Just about any kind of mechanism you can think of is modeled in here and it actually functions the way the full-size item would function," says Paul Debolt, event organizer.

The event gives hobbyists the opportunity to learn from others, and it gives the public a chance to check out V-8 engines, steam engines, and way more.

"People like to think that manufacturing is declining in this country or in this state. If they come out here they can see a lot of really highly-skilled people and what we can still make in the United States," says Debolt.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. The cost is free for children under 11, and $6 for all other attendees.
