A Zanesville man who led authorities on a high-speed chase in September pleads guilty in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

38-year-old Keith Stevens faces charges of vandalism, failure to comply, resisting arrest, theft of a vehicle, and theft of less than $500.

The Zanesville Police Department indicates Stevens stole a van, smashed through a fence at AK Steel, sped down a local street, and then crashed into a pole. He then tried to flee on foot before officers tased him.

Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued his bond. Muskingum County Assistant Prosecutor, Ron Welch, says Stevens could face two and a half years in prison and have to pay a fine close to $11,000. The defendant remains in the Muskingum County Jail.
