One person was hurt this morning in a house fire in Zanesville Friday. It happened at 10-16 Sunset Avenue. Zanesville Fire Chief Davy Lacy says two people were inside the home when the fire broke out and one female was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. The exact cause of the injury was not disclosed. The home is owned by Jonathan Cronin. He was home at the time of the fire but was not hurt. The victim is the girlfriend of one of the Cronin’s children. Chief Lacy says it was a stubborn fire to contain due to the size and age of the home. Lacy expected his crews to be on the scene for a few more hours. Some dogs and cats were found dead inside the structure by fire fighters. The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is helping the family of six with funds to go shopping for clothes and food. The family will be staying with friends and family.
