Bishop fenwick students are giving their thanks this holiday season.
The students took part in their 5th annual three week long food drive. Students ranging from Pre-School all the way through eighth grade prided themselves on being able to not only give thanks but to also give back to the Zanesville community.
"The kids are so excited and they love to be able to help and this is their way of being able to help and feel proud for what they're able to do for other people," says Principal Kelly Sagan.
Parents gathered in the gymnasium Wednesday at the middle school to watch their little turkeys perform a Thanksgiving day skit as well as hear what they were thankful for this holiday season.
"It makes me very proud of my kids and familes. Have fantastic kids, fantastic families, and a fantastic staff. And our mission as a Catholic Church is to give back and that's what we're doing."
According to Sagan, the students raised well over a thousand items as well as raising nearly a hundred dollars in monetary donations. All food items will benefit Eastside Community Ministries this year.
