Two local organizations are teaming up this holiday season to help fight hunger.
The Salvation Army along with one new State Farm agency in Zanesville are kicking off a month long canned food drive in hopes of not only raising awareness of the less fortunate around the holidays, but to come together as a community and help those in need.
"I feel so honored to be able to do this because i am helping those in the community where i do business, where my own family lives and it's just a small way we can give back. Were hoping to make it grow and do bigger and better things as we grow," says State Farm Agent Sarah Baker.
The Salvation Army is preparing to serve twenty three hundred families this holiday season with the help of your support, but its more than just people.
"As things change, they are more than just that basket, more than just that utility help, they are a person and going through struggles and i think it is a privilege that they allow us to do that for them," says Salvation Army Captain Diane Campbell.
If you would like to donate any canned goods, you can do so at the Sarah Baker State Farm agency located at 2525 Maple Avenue just south of Burger King. The food drive will run all the way through the start of the new year.
