The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash involving one-vehicle and a pedestrian.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday night at State Route 16 east of Gale Road.

Authorities say a 2006 Honda Accord being driven by 55-year-old Roger Smith of Granville was traveling westbound on State Route 16 when he struck 18-year-old Josiah Steward of Columbus.

Steward was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he is listed in critical condition. Smith was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
