A Columbus man died Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Friday.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday on State Route 16 east of Gale Road.
The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that a 2006 Honda Accord being driven by 55-year-old Roger Smith of Granville was traveling westbound on State Route 16 when he struck 18-year-old Josiah Steward of Columbus.
Steward was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he later died as a result of his injuries. Smith was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
