The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash.

It happened around 11 a.m. on Sunday on S.R. 37 north of U.S. 40 in Licking County.

Authorities report that 79-year-old Phyllis Phillips of Millersport was traveling southbound in a 2001 Olds Mobile Alero on S.R. 37 when she lost control on the snow covered roadway going left of center striking 40-year-old David McBride of Hebron, who was traveling northbound in a 2010 Ford Escape. Phillips vehicle then continued off the east side of the roadway striking a ditch.

Phillips was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital and was later taken to OSU Medical Center where she died.

McBride was not injured; his passenger 12-year-old Jared McBride was transported to Children's Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

Safety belts were in use by all occupants, alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
