A two-vehicle accident sends eight people to several hospitals.
According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, a Chevy Monte Carlo driven by Chester Newton of Zanesville was turning into a private driveway northbound on State Route 83 when a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Chad Orecchio was driving southbound struck the Monto Carlo causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Authorities say the Ram was carrying two children, both of which were transported to Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville with minor injuries along with the driver.
The Monte Carlo was carrying four passengers including two adults and two children, all four of which were taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital including the driver. The two children were then taken via Med-Flight to Columbus' Children's Hospital with serious injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and the accident remains under investigation.
