The winter storm is over and now we have to deal with slick roads, driveways and sidewalks. The Ohio Department of Transportation, City of Zanesville and Muskingum County plows are out in full force this Friday morning. Local law enforcement authorities say main roadways are being plowed, but remain snow covered and slick in spots. There have been a rash of accidents reported Thursday evening into Friday morning, but no serious accidents have occurred. Secondary roads are still snow covered and slick and extreme caution should be used. Friday morning at 4:00 am five Zanesville City plows were working in unison to take care of Maple Avenue. This scene is playing out is all seven counties in our region and most of the state. Here in Muskingum County Storm Team Meteorologist Chelsea Priest says five inches of snow has been recorded. Our area could see some flurries today but no accumulation is expected. There are Snow Emergencies in effect though the area and the complete list, along with school closing, are located on our main web page at Whiznews.com.
