A woman had to be cut from a vehicle following an accident on Maple Avenue in Zanesville on Monday afternoon.

According to Zanesville Police Officer Joel Tignor, it happened around 3 PM Monday, after a blue Honda Civic, headed southbound on Maple, failed to yield during a left hand turn into the Staples parking lot. The Civic was struck by a green Tracker headed northbound on Maple, which then sent the Civic into a Hyundai Elantra, which was stopped for a red light. The passenger of the Civic had to be cut from the vehicle by the Zanesville Fire Department, and was then taken to Genesis Good Samaritan hospital with minor injuries. Officer Tignor says the driver of the Civic will be cited with failure to yield. Northbound traffic was down to one lane for a short time while crews cleared the scene.
