Some area firefighters took a break from the heat to step into the kitchen. Starting at 8:00 a.m. the Frazeyburg fire fighters gathered to make an all you can eat feast for the community. On the menu: mash potatoes, noodles, chicken and corn.
It is all part of a fundraiser; part of which will help pay for last week's special election that approved the Frazeysburg 5- Mill levy.
"I would like to tell them thanks for supporting us and standing behind us on everything that we do," said Captain Brian Gast.
Over 100 people turn out including volunteers from Tri-Valley High School who helped serve the food as part of their service learning class. Students and firefighters hope to get more involved in the community. They will host this meal the second Sunday of each winter month.
"It'll probably be chicken and noodle or beef and noodle - we are going to try to keep it the same make it easier for every body," said Gast.
Tickets were $6.00 per person and the department should make up to $400 from the event.
